Don Lorong
Don Lorong, a brand synonymous for it’s sleek elegant mid-century design, is a New Zealand brand that was established in the 1960’s.
Rex Taylor and his business partner Stan Strong, who once owned Howick Joinery, saw the writing on the wall for timber joinery when aluminium was making a strong presence in the industry. They saw opportunity in a partnership with their furniture designer and maker friend David Brydon, who subsequently bought into the partnership. Using the existing factory premises, the Don Lorong range of clean elegant furniture design was born.
Thus the name Don Lorong was created from the combination of each partners names (David BryDON, Rex TayLOR, Stan StrONG), specialising in contemporary furniture made from mahogany.
