How do you determine if something is Mid-Century Modern?
Through experience and knowledge of design trends from that era.

How do I differentiate between vintage, retro, and antique?

  • Retro: 1980s–1990s
  • Vintage: 1950s–1970s
  • Antique: Anything older than 100 years.

Do you inspect for bora?
Yes, items are carefully checked for signs of bora.

Do your items come with certificates of authenticity?
No, we do not provide certificates.

How do I care for my new vintage item?
We recommend cleaning and maintaining items as per their material and condition guidelines.

Does Industry Vintage have a showroom?
Yes, our shop doubles as a showroom where you can purchase items.

Are the items online the same as those in-store?
Yes, the inventory is shared between online and in-store.

Can I buy items if I’m not in New Zealand?
No, we currently only sell within New Zealand.

What if I see something I like but it’s no longer available?
All our items are one-of-a-kind, so once sold, they cannot be restocked.

Do you buy vintage and retro pieces?
Yes, we do.

Can I sell something through you? Do you offer consignment?
We typically do not sell on consignment.

Can I hire items for a short-term project?
No, we don’t offer item rentals.

Do you offer a concierge service?
No, we do not.

Yes, items are insured through the courier company.

We carefully package items to minimise the risk of damage.
